Fashion collaborations often see unexpected brands coming together, merging their strengths for a common purpose, be it purely commercial or a more meaningful one.

When the idea behind a partnership is to raise awareness and educate customers on the benefits of on-demand manufacturing like Essēn The Label x Linden Cook collaboration, that is when our attention is undoubtedly captured.

Sustainable fashion redefines the meaning of trends by putting the stress on high quality, uniqueness and longevity of garments and accessories as opposed to crazes. This is where the focus of both Essēn and Linden Cook jewellery lays.

In 2016 Marre Muijs found a gap in the shoe market and founded Essēn to deliver comfortable, design-led and ethically made footwear. Motivated by reducing waste through cutting raw materials as much as possible and producing through a pre-order model, Essēn's shoes are all handmade and using traditional artisan techniques in Italy, Spain and Portugal with attention to every detail.

Essen's careful curation of timeless wardrobe staples with a modern twist prove an all year round quality addition to your wardrobe with little impact on the environment. Not just by avoiding over production but also because to carbon compensate the making and shipping of their shoes, Essen supports energy efficiency, forestry, or clean energy projects that offset the same (or more) amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere and are imposing a carbon tax on themselves.

The other party of this Australian based partnership is Linden Cook, a mother and daughter duo who produces an individual jewellery pieces by using, when possible, recycled, raw and organic materials which do not get overworked but simply mould and shaped.

Every piece of Linden Cook collection is made-to-order, custom designed and aimed to remain stylish and in demand. The result are creations which are unique and timeless.

It is not difficult to understand why these two brands, who share the same ethos of reducing waste while producing high quality, seasonless and handmade products joined forces and their signature products. Essen's Foundation flat, a minimalist ballet flat finished with a directional square toe, is now available for a this limited edition, in 7 colours and featuring Linden Cook's sterling silver chain with a 2-micron hard gold plating, available in two options; a delicate chain measuring 51cm that can be worn as an anklet double looped or a necklace, or a chunky chain measuring 25.5cm, worn as a single anklet or bracelet. These chains will be threaded through the back loop featured on the Foundation Flat.

The collection is launching on 22nd April, on World Earth Day, and it is available exclusively via Essen The Label website.
